Finally got to do our first Dell Compellent SC8000 SAN installation today. The new SC8000 controllers are based on the Dell r710 servers, no more SuperMicro components. The one thing that really stood out for me, even though it has nothing to do with technology, was the way the controllers were shipped. The packing is much more efficient and probably more environmentally friendly due to the smaller/compact boxes.
I was lucky enough to get a chance to attend the Dell Storage Forum in Boston this year. It was a great conference and lots of new product announcements were released revolving around the Dell Compellent SAN. The new SC8000 controller looks sweet and I can't wait to get my hands on one to see it in action.

We are really excited to be here at the Dell Storage Forum to see what is coming down the pipeline from Compellent since the Dell acquistion. Michael Dell and Phil Soran's keynotes were awesome!

I'm headed to Minneapolis, Minnesota to get re-certified as a Compellent SAN installer. I am happy to find out that my flight has Wi-Fi...woo-hoo, only 3 hours to go!
